Luca Locano is a 9-year-old boy who is battling a cancer. The Make-a-Wish Foundation wanted to make sure that he got his last wish. He wanted to meet Aaron Judge and the rest of the New York Yankees. The first thing that Luca said when he met Aaron was “He’s Huge.”
Luca was diagnosed with cancer back in August 2017. He has alveolar rhadomyosarcoma, which is a rare form of cancer that attacks the tissue in the chest.
Michele, who is Luca’s mother, stated that the cancer diagnosis has changed their life. She stated that one minute everything is fine, and the next minute everything is upside down. Luca has been determined to beat the cancer. He spent 17 days in the hospital because of his chemotherapy treatments. When he got out, he went right back to playing with his friends like nothing had happened.
Luca was in school when he got the surprise of his life. He received a video message from Aaron Judge. Aaron told Luca that he and his family would be able to attend a game and meet the New York Yankees.
Luca and his family toured Monument Park, which is where fans pay tribute to the New York Yankees. After that, they went to the dugout and met Aaron Judge. Luca also went to the indoor batting cages. Luca plays on a youth team.
When Luca was asked about his day, he stated that it made him feel a lot better. His mother stated that this is a day that they will never forget. Things are getting better for Luca. His last scan showed that he was cancer-free.
The New Jersey Chapter of Make a Wish has been around since 1983. They have helped thousands of children who suffer from cancer and other terminal illnesses.
